Question

Starting from the reference files (in the examples/cabin directory):

1. In the building model, replace the pre-existing heating and/or cooling system (given in the cabin reference) with a single system that provides both heating and cooling, such as a 10kW air-to-air heat pump.
2. Update the list of possible replacement options for the heating system by replacing the original list with the following:

   a. A more efficient air-to-air heat pump than the existing one (but with about 10 kW power)
   
   b. An air-to-water heat pump (but with about 10 kW power)
   
   c. A wood pellet boiler (but with about 10 kW power)
   

Hint(s)

In oreni, the HVAC systems are modeled in a simplified manner outside of EnergyPlus: in the .idf, the HVAC systems follow the temperature schedule and have no power limit. What is assessed in the performance of the building as an envelop. The HVAC model then takes as input the energy consumption coming from EnergyPlus and the characteristics of the systems such as efficiency factors to estimate final energy costs. 1. You will need to add the missing system(s) in products_catalog.py. Make a copy of it and do not forget to change the path to import it 2. Have a look at the cabin_hvac.json file
